How do I schedule an appointment to meet with a Career Counselor?
If you are a Bryan School undergraduate student, please visit the UNCG Career Services Center in #1 Elliott University Center for career assistance. No appointment is needed. Drop-In Hours are Monday-Friday from 10:00am-5:00pm during the fall and spring semesters. Drop-In Hours are not available during the summer. Please call the UNCG Career Services Center at 336-334-5454 to request an appointment during the summer.
If you are a currently enrolled or admitted Bryan School graduate student, you can schedule an appointment with a career counselor via SpartanCareers. Log into your SpartanCareers account, select “Request an Appointment,” and then follow the steps for requesting an appointment. You will need to complete your SpartanCareers profile before you can request an appointment. In-person appointments are recommended, but Skype and phone appointments can be done upon request. If I am a new graduate student and I don’t have my UNCG email address yet, will I be able to request an appointment through SpartanCareers?
No. To request an appointment via SpartanCareers, you need to have a UNCG email address. If you cannot schedule an appointment through SpartanCareers, please contact our office at 336-334-9815 or BryanCareers@uncg.edu for assistance with scheduling an appointment.
If I am a new student and I don’t have my UNCG email address yet, will I be able to search for part-time jobs and on-campus work study or non-work study jobs using SpartanCareers?
To utilize SpartanCareers, you need to have a UNCG email address. However, you can request a temporary login from the UNCG Career Services Center (CSC) prior to obtaining your UNCG email address. Call the CSC at 336-334-5454 for more information.
As a Bryan School student, can I utilize the resources and services provided through the UNCG Career Services Center (CSC) in #1 Elliott University Center?
Yes. All Bryan School students are welcome to use the resources and services available to you through CSC. You’re also welcome to attend their events. If you need immediate assistance during the fall and spring semesters, the CSC offers Drop-In Hours from 10:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with extended hours on Wednesdays until 6:00pm. After meeting with a Career Team Member during Drop-In Hours, he/she will assist you with scheduling a meeting with a Career Counselor if you need further assistance.
CSC Drop-In Hours are not available during the summer. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a CSC Career Counselor during the summer, please call 336-334-5454. For more information about services provided by CSC, visit their website.
Can I utilize the Bryan Career Services & Internship Programs Office after I graduate?
Yes. All Bryan School graduates can utilize our office and the UNCG Career Services Center for up to 6 months after graduation. In addition, if you graduate from a Bryan School master’s or graduate certificate program, lifetime career services is available to you through the Bryan Career Services & Internship Programs Office only.
As an undergraduate student, are there resources available to help me with choosing a major?
Yes. We encourage you to review the “Explore and Decide” resources found on the UNCG Career Services Center website. We also recommend that you meet with a Career Counselor to discuss choosing a major and what career assessments are available to assist you with your decision making.
What resources are available to help me with my job or internship search?
We recommend you meet with a Career Counselor to discuss your job/internship search strategy. Please keep in mind that your job or internship search can be a lengthy process, so it’s important for you to begin planning and preparing early. Also, if you’re seeking a summer internship, please keep in mind that some companies begin recruiting as early as the fall semester for summer interns. Begin preparing early so that you won’t miss out on some great opportunities! The same thing goes for your full-time job search. Some companies recruit May graduates as early as the fall semester.

As an undergraduate student, in what year should I consider doing an internship?
You can do an internship as early as your freshman year. However, most students will complete internships during their junior and senior years. If companies only want students in certain years to apply, they will usually note that in the internship position descriptions.
Can I do multiple internships throughout my academic studies, and when can internships be conducted?
Yes. There is no limit to the number of internships you are allowed to complete during your studies. Companies seek interns during the fall, spring, and summer.
