Industry Advisory Board

Our connections become your connections.

A big part of being relevant in the industry is staying connected not only to the latest fashion and business trends, but also to the people who are making things happen. Engaging with leaders in the field allows our faculty to continually inform classroom learning and connect you to networking opportunities that make all the difference as you embark on your career. They say success is largely about the people you know. At CARS, we believe it’s about who knows you and how well we prepare you to succeed in their organizations.

The Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies Industry Advisory Board is an important part of our engagement with industry leaders. The board is comprised of 15 members who occupy senior operating positions at a wide range of consumer, apparel and retail related companies. Companies represented by board members include VF Corporation, VF Jeanswear, Belk, Kayser-Roth, Renfro Corporation, National Spinning Co., Inc., and Cotton Incorporated. The primary function of the board is to advise the department on industry-related issues and trends for the purposes of maintaining program currency and to support the professional development of CARS students.
