Upcoming events from UNCG’s Art Department

Art Madness: Friday, March 8, 6-9 pm

The Art Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is very excited to announce that we are cooperating with the Friends of Visual Arts to mount “Art Madness”–an art sale featuring works by our distinguished faculty and alumni who are exhibiting artists from our undergraduate and graduate programs. This is the first of what we hope will be an enduring and anticipated fundraising event to benefit our student programs.

All proceeds from Art Madness will be used to impact our student learning. In recent years we have instituted an annual exhibition in New York City for our graduating MFA candidates. Some of our grad students will travel to Venice for the next edition of Biennale for ten days in Summer of 2013. Last summer our undergraduates participated in a summer study program in Florence Italy with art historian, Heather Holian and painter, Barbara Campbell Thomas. Plans are underway to take a group of photography students to Iceland in May, 2013.
