Internship Program

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro Entrepreneur Internship Program provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate Entrepreneurship majors and minors to gain first-hand experience with local entrepreneurs.  By fostering these entrepreneurially-minded students and providing extra assistance to the entrepreneur, these internships will benefit both the students and the growth of Greensboro’s small business community.  The program is administered through UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics and Triad InternNet, a program of the Greensboro Partnership.

 

Recently one of our students, Rajvir (Raj) Sangha was in intern at Spacelogix (spacelogix.com).  Space Logix is a collaborative coworking facility located in Greensboro, NC. They specialize in providing unique work experiences, while offering a full array of services including flexible work space by the hour, day, week or month, along with full-time fully furnished and equipped office suites for your business.

New Opportunity in Sales

About a month ago I was hired by a wonderful company which was actively seeking new employees and mainly college graduates such as myself.  Therefore I applied and was fortunate enough to land my first real job with this great company HOME TEAM PEST DEFENSE, who is owned by Rollins Company in Atlanta, GA.  The more familiar company you may know is Orkin which Rollins owns and which is our sister company.  Home Team Pest Defense just moved into a new location in RTP in Durham, right by Raleigh,Cary, and Morrisville. They are looking to hire a number of new employees in the coming months.

I was hoping if any of you know of any candidates who you believe would be a good match for an inside sales representative for Home Team, you would either pass this information below or direct them to the link which I will post below. We are small at the moment but are looking to expand heavily in the coming months.  We are currently looking and seeking to hire at least ten new employees.

The position is hourly plus commission and includes benefits such as 401K, Life Insurance and medical.  The company is also growing in terms of expanding by adding new branches which means new opportunities are coming soon for branch areas.  The position of Inside Sales Representative is for the call center which is in RTP, right behind the Quintiles building off 40 as you heading toward Raleigh.   It is right next to a bus station for anyone who would like to utilize the RTP bus system. Some other small features is that there is a gym across the street as well if that is something someone wants to join or do before, between, or after work.  Hours are 40 a week and usually days begin at 11 AM.

Hospitality Internship Opportunity

Triangle Catering Hospitality Group is currently seeking candidates for paid Interns which would be working as assistant event planners and tour guides for our Durham venues The Cotton Room & Belt Line Station.

Must have good verbal communication skills, be upbeat and positive, organized, and be able to work on your feet for 12+ hour shifts. Candidates should be interested in pursuing a career in the events/hospitality industry as positions have the ability to turn into full time planner positions after graduation.

Must successfully complete background screening to be eligible.

Internship Opportunity for ENT students

(Posted 7/26/16) PAID internship working to assist entrepreneurs with their businesses. They will move fast on hiring so APPLY TODAY. 12 hours per week pays $150. You can apply for ENT 450 (3 credits) on the Management Dept. website-once you get the position. The ENT/BUS 450 course is required for entrepreneurship majors and an elective for the entrepreneurship minor. This is the internship class and you have to pre-register and get accepted before you can register for the class.

TSL Internship Overview
Triad Startup Lab is an accelerator program for entrepreneurs starting and growing companies. The program consists of two sessions: TSL 101 & TSL Growth. Providing experts and mentors through-out our programs, TSL 101 will guide entrepreneurs through the vital start-up requirements from idea to launch and TSL Growth will help existing companies to grow and scale their company. The cohorts will meet weekly at co//ab.

Interns should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of entrepreneurship. Additionally, all interns will receive a free membership to co//ab for the duration of the internship (8am – midnight access).
• Internship details:
– Dates: from September 8th through December 13th
– Hours & Rate: 12 hours per week @ $150/week
– Location: co//ab – 229 N. Greene Street – Greensboro
– Hours:
o Required: Tuesdays from 5 pm – 8 pm
o Balance of hours to be scheduled

• Intern responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
– Maintain website(s) and social media related to Triad Startup Lab (TSL) programming and participants
– Write a weekly blog about the TSL program and process to be shared with the GPEC community
– Complete assigned projects as directed, such as writing vision and mission statements, branding positions, and editing blog content.
– Attend Idea SLAM! events monthly – participate as a presenter or audience member
– Assist TSL founders and startups as needed. This could include the following:
o Product Development
o Website development
o Financial model builds
o Market research
o Social media set-up & planning
o Assist with blog posts of weekly updates, accomplishments and/or learnings.
o Assist with applications submitted to granting organizations, e.g. NC Idea, NC Biotechnology, etc.

• Interns should:
– be an undergraduate/graduate student in the Greensboro area majoring in Design, Marketing, Business, Advertising, Computer Science, Law, Mathematics, and/or Language;
– have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of Web and social media;
– have PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience (Adobe Design Programs are preferred); and
– be collaborative, creative, and a “design thinker”.

The Greensboro Historical Museum is pleased to announce unpaid internships for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to gain valuable experience and possible course credit at a Smithsonian Affiliate and American Alliance of Museums-accredited institution. Internships are available during the fall semester, with schedules determined after selection.
To apply, please submit a personal statement indicating the internship project for which you are applying, along with the reasons for your interest and how your work might benefit the Historical Museum. You should also send a transcript (unofficial is fine) and resume that includes contact information for two school or work references. LOCAL WORLD WAR I SOLDIERS
Learn and apply best professional research practices by researching Guilford County soldiers who served during the First World War and are buried at local churches and public cemeteries. Responsibilities include photography of tombstones and biographical research in library newspaper clippings and obituary records, other publications and on-line resources, such as genealogical sites, military databases and service records. Completed profiles will be incorporated into a searchable visitor kiosk in a museum exhibition. Instruction and supervision will be provided by the Curator of Collections.
Applicants must have keyboard and computer skills and work habits that demonstrate attention to detail. Research skill and interest in US History and military history are a plus, as is a demonstrated interest in history and/or museum work. Flexible weekday schedule.
GRASSROOTS MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA
Support museum efforts to promote events and services with area media outlets. You’ll also research Greensboro newspapers and sources to draft facebook posts, tweets, etc. to help develop a year-long series of “On this Day in Greensboro History.” Instruction and supervision will be provided by several museum staff members.
Applicants should be undergraduate or graduate students with working knowledge of how to develop and use social media. Demonstrated research skills and creative thinking a plus. Flexible weekday schedule.
