Assessments in Canvas
During this workshop we’ll take a closer look at some of the details of assessment in Canvas, including: tips for students, quiz and assignment settings, availability settings, weighting grades, rubrics, and SpeedGrader. You will need to have a basic understanding of Canvas before signing up for this workshop.

Canvas Tips and Tricks for using the Rich Content Editor in Canvas.  Have you ever wondered what all the buttons in the box are for? This workshop will explain the buttons and show how you can use them in your design of assignments and content pages.

Plagiarism and Turnitin
Canvas uses the plagiarism tool Turnitin. This introductory workshop will cover the basic features of Turnitin including originality checking (plagiarism); online grading through GradeMark; Peer Review; Rubrics. We will also discuss some strategies to help reduce risk of cheating in an online course.

Screencasting: Creating Screencast Videos for your courses
This beginner workshop will introduce you to tools for creating screencasts- Jing (free), Screencast-O-matic (free) and Camtasia (not free but has a free 30 day trial version). Bring your laptops and we will spend time creating your first video with Camtasia. After completing the workshop, if you would like a Camtasia license, one will be provided for you…compliments of the Dean’s Office.
