The CARS department hosted the inaugural Internship Poster Competition on November 18. Ten student finalists who completed internships during summer 2015 were selected to compete based on the posters they submitted as part of the internship course. Four CARS Industry Advisory Board members served as judges. Finalists gave a three minute elevator speech about their internship experiences, followed by a question and answer session in front of their posters. Finalists were judged on communication as well as creativity. Three prizes worth approximately $350 each were awarded to the following competitors:
- Sarah Zerbe, Belk, Best Overall Internship Experience
- Maryann Kozikowski, VF Jeanswear, Best in Communication
- Taylor Rutledge, Hudson’s Hill, Best in Creativity
Presentations were followed by a networking lunch. The event was sponsored by a Human Environmental Sciences Foundation grant.
