CARS PhD Graduates Return to Campus to Share Scholarship

Posted on January 12, 2018

The PhD in CARS is one of the oldest on the UNCG campus and in the field of clothing and textiles.  Established in 1966, it recently turned 50 years old.  To celebrate the program’s distinguished legacy of preparing academic and industry leaders, a research symposium was held on September 29-30, 2017 highlighting scholarship by PhD alumni, current doctoral students, and faculty.

The symposium kicked off with a panel presentation on the future of clothing and textiles in higher education by four CARS PhD alumni who are now distinguished faculty at universities throughout the country.  Oral and poster presentations were featured throughout the two-day symposium, held at the Alumni House on the UNCG campus.  Alumni enjoyed reconnecting with peers and meeting current students while experiencing the beauty of the UNCG campus once again.
