Welcome, new transfer and readmitted students!
The Bryan Undergraduate Student Services office will help make your transition to UNCG as smooth as possible. Once you have completed the Admissions process, you will receive an email welcome letter that will outline the steps you need to take in order to set up an advising appointment for registration.
Remember that New Transfer students are required to attend one of the New Transfer SOAR sessions (Spartan Orientation, Advising & Registration). Please visit the link for more information or to contact the office of New Student Transitions & First Year Experience.
Note: SOAR is the University’s orientation.
Readmitted Students are students who have previously attended UNCG (not including summer) without completing a degree. Readmission is not automatic, students needing readmission to the University will need to connect with the Admissions office to take the proper steps for readmission or reactivation prior to meeting with their assigned Bryan Advisor.
Bryan Advisor Briefing
The Bryan Undergraduate Student Services Office will contact all Transfer and Readmitted students via their iSpartan email with information on completing your Bryan Advisor Briefing (BAB) orientation. This will be sent starting in late April to early May if admitted for Fall, or late November to early December if admitted for Spring. Please be patient and wait for this email before attempting to meet with an advisor. You must complete all the steps in the email prior to gaining access to your advisor’s Starfish calendar. Approximately 72 hours after you have completed the BAB videos and quiz, you will be given access to your advisor’s calendar in Starfish.
Most Transfer students have questions about how their credits will transfer. Bryan Advisors are not able to provide transfer equivalencies prior to admission to the University. You must provide an official transcript to the Registrar’s Office before any transfer credits are applied. To see how credits have transferred in the past to UNCG, visit the Transfer Equivalency System (TES).
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Bryan Undergraduate Student Services office at (336) 334-5928.
