Economics Seminar Presented by Dr. Manan Roy of Appalachian State University
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Manan Roy to the UNCG Economics Seminar Series! Dr. Roy is an Assistant Professor in Healthcare Management at Appalachian State University. Dr. Roy’s research experience includes program evaluation as a research contractor for Federal and State government programs. As a Research Scientist at the Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University, Dr. Roy was responsible for evaluating the relative contributions of cognitive and non-cognitive factors to adult health and socio-economic outcomes. Her current research agenda includes assessing the differential mobility of racial groups across the food insecurity spectrum. He will be presenting his paper titled “Low Health Literacy and Risky Health Behavior in North Carolina.”
The Economics Seminar Series is geared to broaden professional networking opportunities and foster collaboration with students, colleagues, and researchers in the field of economics and related areas of study. Guest speakers present published works from peer-reviewed economics or field journals spanning a multitude of research interests. Attendees have the opportunity to hear of the outcomes and process behind top research. Questions and open discourse are encouraged. This series is open to everyone in the UNCG community with an interest in economics.
