Background
Research Areas: Labor Economics and Personnel Economics
Dr. Dora Gicheva joined The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) faculty as an assistant professor in 2010 after completing her Ph.D. in Economics at Yale University. She works in the areas of labor and education economics. Her work has examined the ways in which students pay for postsecondary education, as well as the impacts of government policies related to higher education financing. In addition, she conducts research on topics related to workplace practices that promote mentoring or other types of non-monetary support, and on the role that intrinsic motivation plays in workers’ choice of occupation and labor supply.
