Faculty and Staff

Soonchul Hyun joined the faculty of the Bryan School of Business and Economics as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance in 2018. Dr. Hyun received her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Calgary and holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA from Kyungpook National University in South Korea. While pursuing her graduate degrees, she served as an undergraduate instructor in the areas of financial and cost accounting, accounting information systems, and taxation. At UNCG, Dr. Hyun’s current teaching areas include managerial accounting. Research areas for Dr. Hyun are in innovation and performance, fundamental analysis, and corporate social responsibility. She is a member of the American Accounting Association, Canadian Academic Accounting Association, and Beta Gamma Sigma.
