Research Areas: Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, and Financial Economics
Dr. Timothy Moreland is an Assistant Professor of Economics at The University of North Carolina – Greensboro. He conducts research within the field of macroeconomics with a focus on monetary policy, financial markets and firm heterogeneity. Recent work studies how expected volatility of firm equities influences their response to monetary policy and the ways in which the governance structure of banks affects resilience to economic shocks. At UNC Greensboro, he teaches courses on money and banking, macroeconomics and business statistics.
Dr. Moreland earned his Masters in Public Policy at the University of Minnesota and his PhD in Economics at Michigan State University.
