Canvas Rich Content Editor and Creating Assignments
Canvas Tips and Tricks for using the Rich Content Editor in Canvas.  Have you ever wondered what all the buttons in the box are for? This workshop will explain the buttons and show how you can use them in your design of assignments and content pages. It will also show you creative ways to create Assignments and Manage Your Grades and Gradebook.



Assessments in Canvas
During this workshop we’ll take a closer look at some of the details of assessment in Canvas, including: tips for student evaluations, quiz and assignment settings, availability settings, weighting grades, rubrics, and SpeedGrader. You will need to have a basic understanding of Canvas before signing up for this workshop.


Canvas: Peer Review and Rubrics
This workshop will look at how to create grading rubrics in Canvas, as well as how to use the Peer Review tool in Canvas.


Plagiarism and Turnitin
Canvas uses the plagiarism tool Turnitin. This introductory workshop will cover the basic features of Turnitin including originality checking (plagiarism); online grading through GradeMark; Peer Review; Rubrics. We will also discuss some strategies to help reduce risk of cheating in an online course.

Using Feedback Studio’s Comments Features and Rubrics may save you hours of time. Come learn about this special grading tool embedded in Turnitin.


WebEx: UNCG’s Synchronous Learning Management System (SLMS)
This beginner/intermediate workshop will introduce you to our SLMS. All faculty and staff have access to WebEx.  WebEx is accessible inside your Canvas Courses/Organizations as well as outside of Canvas. To access WebEx outside of Canvas, go to


Screencasting: Creating Screencast Videos for your courses
This beginner workshop will introduce you to tools for creating screencasts- ARC (embedded in Canvas), Jing (free), Screencast-O-matic (free) and Camtasia (not free but has a free 30 day trial version) and, (believe it or not) PowerPoint. Bring your laptops and we will spend time creating your first video with ARC. After completing the workshop, if you would like a Camtasia license, one will be provided for you…compliments of the Dean’s Office.
