Assessments in Canvas
During this workshop we’ll take a closer look at some of the details of assessment in Canvas, including: tips for student evaluations, quiz and assignment settings, availability settings, weighting grades, rubrics, and SpeedGrader. Plagiarism and Turnitin
Canvas uses the plagiarism tool Turnitin. This introductory workshop will cover the basic features of Turnitin including originality checking (plagiarism); online grading through GradeMark; Peer Review; Rubrics. We will also discuss some strategies to help reduce risk of cheating in an online course.

Screencasting: Creating Screencast Videos for your courses
This beginner workshop will introduce you to tools for creating screencasts- Jing (free), Screencast-O-matic (free) and Camtasia (not free but has a free 30 day trial version) and, (believe it or not) PowerPoint. Bring your laptops and we will spend time creating your first video with Camtasia. After completing the workshop, if you would like a Camtasia license, one will be provided for you…compliments of the Dean’s Office.
