An adaptable major

Majoring in finance can also prepare you for graduate programs such as the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) and the Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as an MBA with a concentration in finance. The curriculum of this program is designed to provide an efficient means to double major for BS in accounting students. BS in accounting students need only undertake three additional courses to earn a double major in accounting and finance.

A multi-dimensional course experience

FIN-410: Business Finance II

Sample course

This course allows the student to demonstrate the ability to work in Excel as part of the experience. Business Finance II provides instruction and demonstration of the employer desired skills of working capital management and capital budgeting (a valuation technique).


Learn investment principles and practices

FIN-442: Investments

Sample course

Fundamental security investment is emphasized and technical trading is discussed. Combining this course with the student Spartan Investment Club allows students to have a professional hands-on experience during their time in the finance program.
