Spartan Women in Business (SWIB) for Graduate Students
We are a graduate student organization dedicated to empowering female business professionals, assisting women with leadership positions in business, and enhancing the diversity of the workforce worldwide.
Although SWIB serves a generally female-identifying audience, such as female business professionals and graduate-level entrepreneurs, male members are always welcome. SWIB hosts many networking events and opportunities that any graduate student member may attend.
UNCG’s Spartan Women in Business group started as a UNCG NAWMBA Chapter, founded in 2014 by Ashley Raper with the help and support of the Bryan School. At the end of 2019, NAWMBA transitioned and created changes that made us re-evaluate our mission, goals, and membership. We re-launched as Spartan Women in Business in 2020 and opened our membership to all graduate-level women in the Bryan School of Business & Economics, to help connect, support, and further women in roles as leaders and changemakers in their organizations and communities.
What do we do?
Currently, our functions include:
- Career Development
- Service and Volunteer Work
- Speaker Series
- Networking Events
- Mentorship and Advice
- Connections
In order to further develop and strengthen relationships between our student members and successful female leaders in the community, we host a variety of meetings, events, and community service opportunities to promote networking and connection with prominent female leaders to inform and inspire our members.
