Posted on January 07, 2015

Students from UNCG’s Department of Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies (CARS) apparel design program will showcase original designs inspired by NASCAR racing legend Richard Petty at a January 17 show sponsored by the Petty Family Foundation. The event starts at 7 p.m. at the Petty Enterprises Historical Site in Level Cross, NC and features “Petty-inspired Clothing for the Year 2043” from 12 top design students. Winners will be selected by a panel of style and fashion industry professionals and celebrities, as well as by popular vote.

Borrowing from Richard Petty’s famous #43 car, general admission tickets are $43 and VIP tickets (which include front-row seating, reception, and swag bag) are $143. A limited number are still available for purchase from the Petty Family Foundation website. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for CARS students as well as the Petty Family’s charity, Victory Junction.
