CARS 4th Annual Internship Poster Competition

Posted on December 17, 2018

The Department of Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies hosts a poster competition each year in which rising seniors who have completed their summer internships get the opportunity to compete with other students for the chance to win prizes.  The 2018 Internship Poster Competition took place on November 1st in the Stone Building.  Thirteen CARS students were selected to present the posters they created as part of the internship course.  This is the largest number of participants the competition has ever seen.  The competition began with each student giving a three-minute elevator speech about their experience as interns.  Soon after, the students began a short interview with each of our four judges in front of their posters.  Judging was based on both their presentation of the information as well as their creativity.  This question and answer session was then followed by a networking lunch in which monetary prizes were awarded to the following finalists:

  • Anna Funk (TeamConnection): Best in Oral Communication
  • Brittany Gray (Walmart): Best in Visual Communication
  • Hope Rogers (Wrangler): Best Overall Internship Experience

Special thanks to our four industry judges, Angela Marley, Cora Outling, Tim Pickett, and Gary Simmons, for their time and support.
