This online program is designed to provide you with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills in information technology. Upon completion of this program you will be prepared for the challenge of developing and managing an information system within an organization.

Required Curriculum

• ISM-671: Organizing Data for Analytics
• ISM-672: App Design and Programming
• ISM-673: Designing Secure Computer and IoT Networks for Business

Elective Curriculum

You may choose 3 credit hours from the following or other approved courses:

• ISM-645: Principles of Predictive Analytics
• ISM-670: IT Disruptive Innovation Management
• ISM-679: Special Topics in Information Systems

The Graduate Certificate in IT Development program welcomes a variety of applicants, whether they come to us with years of professional experience or have just recently earned an undergraduate degree — business or otherwise.

Admissions Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) from an accredited institution
• One official transcript from all previous academic institutions
• Statement of purpose
• Three letters of recommendation
• Resume
• Online application and $65 fee
• TOEFL/IELTS for non-native English speakers

Estimated Program Costs

These estimated program costs include tuition and fees based on the 2022-2023 Graduate Tuition and Fee Schedule and do not include the cost of textbooks or student health insurance. Visit csh.uncg.edu for more detailed information. Tuition and fees vary depending on the program track pursued and the number of credit hours taken each semester.

The Outside-of-NC rate applies to students located outside of the state taking online classes. The Out-of-State rate applies to students taking classes while located within the state, but are not residents of NC (determined by the Residency Determination Service).

Student Outcomes

If you plan to pursue a master’s, your certificate may count toward the MS in Information Technology and Management requirements.

Plus, GMAT/GRE admission requirements for the master’s program may be waived with this completed graduate certificate. Graduates hold a variety of positions, such as:
