The Importance of Technology

Posted on November 27, 2017

Patrick Stogner ’18 believes the information systems industry is paramount to our society. That’s why he helped found the Association of Information Systems (AIS) in 2015. Today, he serves as the group’s president.

“AIS was created by students and for students within the Bryan School to inform them on the latest trends in technology, new opportunities in technology, and how it shapes and has shaped our society as an asset,” said Stogner.

AIS works to promote student advancement in the information systems and technology fields through things such as career enhancement, professional networking, and chapter development.

As a club only in its second year on campus, much of their focus is on how they plan to help members. They plan to lead workshops to teach members things such as SAS, JavaScript, and Python. Members attending the workshops will gain knowledge, while those teaching will gain experience in teaching, communication, and working with others.

Additional events they plan to host include fundraisers at local restaurants, and a career panel with tech companies and industry professionals.
