With the rise of globalization in business and ever-changing regulations and tax laws, studies in the field of accounting have an increasing importance in today’s business world and offer a broad spectrum of employment opportunities after graduation.
The Accounting program in the Bryan School of Business and Economics provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to enter the accounting profession through courses that include preparation and analysis of financial statements, use of accounting information for business decisions, and courses in taxation and auditing. Through individual and group projects in the classroom which simulate real-world settings, students develop the necessary skills to succeed in the business world.
Our strong relationship and collaboration with national and regional accounting firms allow undergraduate students to explore the various disciplines of accounting. Networking events, such as Company Spotlights and Meet the Firms, and professional organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi provide students with the opportunity to develop their business skills and interact with professionals in the field. Students in upper-level accounting classes may pursue an internship in accounting to enhance their studies and gain valuable experience while also earning college credit. Both in and out of the classroom, students can expect to be challenged and to graduate ready to begin an entry-level accounting career or to apply to a graduate program in accounting or a related field.
The Accounting major is offered on campus or 100% online for maximum flexibility
