Business Transfer Course Review Process

Students who transfer business course credit from accredited two-year or four-year institutions, or who plan to take business courses elsewhere, may need to request a transfer equivalency review.

To receive transfer credit, you must earn a grade of C or higher in the course, in accordance with university policy.

Before submitting this request, speak with your academic advisor to confirm that this is the correct form for your situation.

Before requesting a review, check the University Transfer Equivalency System (TES) to see whether the course has already received a transfer evaluation. Many courses already have approved equivalencies and do not require another review. If TES lists a course as an elective or non-specific departmental (000) credit, the course may not have received a direct equivalency or may only count as a free elective.

If you are transferring courses from a North Carolina Community College, the statewide Comprehensive Articulation Agreement already determines how those courses transfer. Some courses satisfy degree requirements only if you complete an associate degree. Courses outside the articulation agreement do not transfer, and the Bryan School cannot override the statewide agreement or conduct additional reviews for those courses.

The Bryan School reviews only courses in disciplines taught by Bryan School faculty. If you need an evaluation for a non-business course, your academic advisor will refer you to the appropriate academic department.

In most cases, the Bryan School does not award 300-level or higher credit for business courses completed at two-year institutions.

Use this form only to request a review of transfer credit into the Bryan School. If you want another institution to evaluate Bryan School coursework for transfer credit, work with your academic advisor to obtain the appropriate referral.

A thorough course review takes time. The Bryan School carefully evaluates each course to maintain accreditation standards and academic rigor. Most reviews take up to 20 business days to complete.
