The U.S. News & World Report released its 2024 list of Best Online Programs rankings on Wednesday, acknowledging UNC Greensboro’s Bryan School of Business and Economics’ online programs as some of the best in the country.  

For the 2024 edition, U.S. News assessed 1,752 online degree programs and ranked 1,680 of them. The rankings measure overall academic quality at the baccalaureate and master’s levels across disciplines. The Bryan School earned top national accolades in several categories, such as:  

  • #27 in U.S. – Best Online Master’s in Business Programs for Veterans (Excluding MBA)  
  • #38 in U.S. – Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs  
  • #43 in U.S. – Best Online Master’s in Computer Information Technology Programs 
  • #62 in U.S. – Best Online Master’s in Business Programs (Excluding MBA) 
  • #86 in U.S. – Best Online MBA Programs 

The Bryan School’s ranking in the Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs category came in tied for No. 1 in the state of North Carolina, its best in-state accolade. 

Bryan programs took the No. 3 spot in North Carolina in the categories of Best Online Master’s in Business Programs for Veterans (Excluding MBA) and Best Online Master’s in Computer Information Technology Programs, respectively. 

“The Bryan School’s online program offerings are extensive and among some of the most innovative in the country,” said Dean McRae C. Banks. “We strive to provide students with flexible and inclusive academic options so that they can receive a high-quality education, and it’s an honor to be recognized for those efforts once again.” 

According to U.S. News, indicators distinct to the Best Online Programs rankings include measures of services offered remotely, available technologies and course delivery best practices.  
 
“Ultimately, the Best Online Programs rankings measure whether online degree programs have academic standards commensurate with quality brick-and-mortar programs that are properly adapted toward the unique pedagogy of distance education,” its website reads. 

Appearing up and down the lists of U.S. News & World Report Online Programs Rankings has become a tradition at the Bryan School as of late, earning favorable marks for several years in a row.
