Experts to Discuss Role of Sustainability in Retail
The Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNC Greensboro will host a panel discussion on “Sustainability – The Key to Future Growth” on Tuesday, October 22 from 2-4 pm in the Elliott University Center (EUC) Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. The discussion will be followed by a reception in the EUC’s Cone Ballroom. The event is part of the school’s new Virtual Collaboratory for Sustainable Business Practices, made possible by a grant from the VF Foundation.
Panel speakers will include nationally-known retail expert Marshal Cohen from NPD Group, Chris Fox with HanesBrands Inc., Jesse Daystar with Cotton Incorporated, Scott Deitz with Kontoor Brands, and Chad Bolick with Unifi.
Sustainability is a requirement for new and existing brands as well as a driver of innovation and opportunity across all industries and at retail. The NPD Group’s Chief Industry Advisor Marshal Cohen will lead a panel discussion among top industry experts for an exploration of the role of sustainability in retail today throughout North America. This mini-journey evaluates the impact of sustainability on the retail industry now and in the future by identifying challenges and opportunities created by the changing retail and consumer landscape.
