Posted on September 17, 2020

Congratulations to third year CARS PhD student Sukyung Seo for being awarded the prestigious D. Elizabeth Williams International Graduate Fellowship!  The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) awards this fellowship each year to international students nominated by AAFCS associated faculty.  Sukyung won this award based on a description of her dissertation research topic, “Self-Gifting Behavior: Multidimensional Scale Development,” and faculty recommendations from Dr. Hodges, Dr. Watchravesringkan and Dr. Su in the CARS department.  This award includes $5,000, as well as $2,500 to support one year of AAFCS membership and participation in the AAFCS conferences.  With the support from this award, Sukyung was able to attend the AAFCS conference this July where she met many people in the Family and Consumer Science field.  The networking opportunities at this conference allowed her to gain research ideas and share her research interests with industry professionals.

 Congratulations Sukyung!
