Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Department of Economics provides financial support to a small number of exceptionally well-qualified students in the MA in Applied Economics program through graduate assistantships, fellowships, and scholarships. There is no separate application for scholarships, and all applicants are considered. Applicants may indicate their interest in a graduate assistantship from within the online application. Additional information on financial assistance is available through the Office of Financial Aid.

These estimated program costs include tuition and fees based on the 2026-2027 Graduate Tuition and Fee Schedule and do not include the cost of housing or student health insurance. The Outside-of-NC rate applies to students located outside of the state taking online classes. The Out-of-State rate applies to students taking classes while located within the state, but are not residents of NC (determined by the Residency Determination Service).
