Spartan Investment Club

The Spartan Investment Club is a student organization that helps its members with professional development in the financial services and investment industries. Members can prepare for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification exam, participate in worldwide competitions, and attend events where industry professionals speak about their everyday lives.

Members may take part in three different kinds of competitions and challenges, including two international opportunities and one on campus. On the international level, they participate in the ETF Global Portfolio Challenge and the CFA Student Research Challenge. The ETF Global Portfolio Challenge is a semi-annual event where students all over the world compete against one another by creating virtual portfolios. For the CFA Research Challenge, students research and perform analyses on existing companies in the industry. On campus, members compete in Stock Pitch Battles, where they present their financial and investment suggestions to representatives who handle UNCG’s Weaver Portfolio.
